The tour was led by long-standing club member John Latham, who is knowledgeable about the golf club's history and has a particular interest in the trees at the site.

The club is home to 140 distinct tree species and in recent years, Latham has managed the planting of 8,500 trees on the course.

Expanded to 18 holes in 1975, the golf club features a monument designed by Robert Adam and dedicated to the memory of Lady Portsmouth.
