Businesses in Stansted and Dunmow were among those celebrated at the King's Awards for Enterprise 2024.

Essex County Council and the Essex Lieutenancy celebrated at an event in Chelmsford when 11 businesses from the county won in four categories.

The categories are international trade - which saw eight winners from Essex -  innovation, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility, which had one winner from Essex each.

Among the winners were aviation component support company Skysmart MRO Ltd, which is based in Great Dunmow and won in the international trade category.

Also winning in the international trade category were shipping company Kestrel Liner Agencies Ltd and European charter airline Titan Airways, which are both based in Stansted.

The 2024 winners, along with past recipients, came together for a networking event at County Hall, Chelmsford.

Councillor Tony Ball, cabinet member for education excellence, lifelong learning and employability at Essex County Council, said: "It was an honour to meet with this year’s winners of the King’s Awards for Enterprise – the highest accolade a UK business can achieve.

"This year’s increase in Essex winners evidences the hard work and determination of our local businesses. 

"We’d like to thank the Lord-Lieutenant’s Office for their support in hosting a really exciting and rewarding event, and for continuing to support our business community.

"We encourage businesses across the county to consider applying for the King’s Awards for Enterprise 2025, and we hope to see another impressive winners list next year."
