The Beach on the Common is returning to Saffron Walden to entertain families this summer.

Saffron Walden Town Council first brought a mad-made beach to the town in 2022, as part of celebrations for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, and then again last year for the summer holidays.

The grand opening will take place on Friday, June 26.

Mayor of Saffron Walden Cllr Deryk Eke will officially open the beach at 2.30pm, with support from Saffron Hall and the KD Theatre Productions cast of Treasure Island.

There will be songs and photo opportunities with the cast until 4.30pm.

A Saffron Walden Town Council spokesperson said: "Special thanks to sponsor Pottrill Holland Property Agents for helping to make this year’s beach possible.

Oliver Pottrill of Pottrill Holland added: "We are thrilled that for the second year in a row, Pottrill Holland can support such a wonderful event that brings so much joy to local families.
