A party was held in Newport to celebrate the 100th issue of the village's award-winning magazine, Newport News.
The magazine was founded by John Gordon, who produced the first edition in June 1974 and has edited every single issue since then, working with a team of volunteers.
John is now stepping down as editor after 50 years, and gave a talk at the party in Newport Village Hall on Friday, November 17.

He was presented with two golden anniversary roses and a 50th birthday cake, while his wife Cecilia and regular contributor Angela Archer both received flowers.
The magazine's new editor Anne Williams said: "Newport News is at the heart of Newport village life.
"We were pleased to toast John’s achievements in founding the magazine, and in editing every one of the twice-yearly editions for the last half-century. We in Newport owe him so much."
