The scheme will be rolled out across 455 pharmacies, with the aim of expediting treatment for seven common health conditions and bypassing the need for a GP or a prescription.
These include conditions like sinusitis, sore throats, earache, infected insect bite, impetigo, shingles, and uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women.
Saffron Walden MP Kemi Badenoch said: "Last month I visited Well Pharmacy in Saffron Walden to discuss the Pharmacy First approach, and how using the skills of our pharmacists to treat more people in the community without the need for a GP appointment will speed up care as well as help reduce pressure on local GP services."
