The director of a Saffron Walden youth group braved Lapland in icy temperatures to raise money for young poets.
Creative Walden - which is based at Fairycroft House - announced a 'sub-zero temperature' charity walk in December, unaware that we would make it to March with no snow.
Undeterred, director Paul Bellany travelled 1,340 miles to the Arctic Circle at his own expense, to undertake the snow walk wearing a T-shirt and a kilt.

Paul walked in temperatures of minus seven for two hours, reciting poetry by the Creative Walden children.
