A young couple from Great Chesterford are celebrating after getting on the property ladder two years earlier than expected.
Samantha Morgan, 31, and Sean Binding, 30, previously found themselves consistently priced out of the housing market in their popular Essex postcode.
However, thanks to the combined assets of savings, unexpected additional support from The Hill Group, and a sizeable deposit contribution, the pair were able move into a brand new, two-bedroom end-of-terrace house in the picturesque Chesterford Meadows.
Ms Morgan said: "In three years, we’d saved £30,000, but the reality is that this isn’t enough to buy a home, especially in this area.
"Although we knew we didn’t have enough in the bank yet, Chesterford Meadows was on my radar.
"I persuaded Sean that we should go and take a look."
Their visit led to an unexpected outcome.
Samantha added: "Alan in the sales office was really encouraging.
"He worked out that with (our) deposit contribution incentive...we could receive a gift of £15,000 towards the house.
"This meant we were then able to meet the 10 per cent threshold and could secure a mortgage with a lender."
Despite originally intending to continue to save while renting, the couple acted quickly, reserving their dream home with a £2,000 fee.
Their new home is situated on the borders of Hertfordshire and Essex, and comes with lower energy bills and high-quality fixtures and fittings as standard.
Samantha added: "Moving into a new build home has been a dream - there were no extra hidden costs.
"The team had no hidden agendas, which I really appreciated.
"They simply provided us with all the facts and were super helpful at every stage.
"When we moved in, everything was smooth."
Breaking free from the constraints of renting, Samantha concluded: "This is our home and our future.
