Work is set to begin on Monday to replace ageing gas pipes in Newport.
Gas distribution network Cadent will decommission the current metallic gas pipes - which measure 4km in length and were installed in the 1920s and 1950s - and installing tougher new pipes.
The work will take place between Monday, May 20 and Friday, July 26.
While the work is carried out, road traffic management will be in place in London Road, The High Street, Frambury Lane, Debden Road, Bullfields, The Spinney and Bishops Way.
As the project progresses, London Road will be closed southbound from the junction of The Spinney, including the junction with Widdington Road, with diversions in place.

Cadent site manager Lee Midson said: "We have worked hard with the local authorities to create a plan that keeps traffic flowing and maintains access for local businesses and residents.
"We are very conscious of the disruption roadworks cause and are in regular contact with the Highways Authority to keep them updated on our work which we will always complete as quickly and as safely as we can."
There will be times when the gas supply to properties is interrupted for a short period, and those affected will be contacted directly.
