Saffron Walden Museum celebrated their 50 dedicated volunteers to say 'thank you' during Volunteers' Week.

The museum volunteers spend more than 2,500 hours annually carrying out duties, including running the welcome desk, helping with gardening on the grounds, cataloguing collections and running learning activities.

The event was part of the nationwide Volunteers’ Week, held in the first week of June.

Jenny Oxley, the museum's interim curator, said: "Our volunteers are a very dedicated bunch – without their support and commitment the museum simply could not operate.

"We are delighted to celebrate and thank them for their terrific support."

The museum is continually seeking for more volunteers; more information is available via, by calling 01799 510333 or by emailing
