A record-breaking 2.7 million passengers used London Stansted Airport in May.
The airport saw its busiest ever May this year, with the half-term holiday contributing to a significant boost in numbers.
The overall monthly total was up 6.4 per cent on the same month in 2023, beating the previous busiest May in 2019 by 143,000 passengers.
James Richardson, London Stansted’s finance director, said: "The record-breaking numbers were boosted by a very busy half-term week as hundreds of thousands of Brits headed off on holiday as well as huge numbers of overseas visitors choosing the airport as their gateway to London and the East of England."
The busy half-term week brought 860,000 passengers through the airport.
More than 98,000 people used the terminal on Monday, May 27, marking the busiest single day of the year so far.

May's top destinations were Dublin, Istanbul, and Edinburgh.
Speaking ahead of the Euros, Mr Richardson added: "Ahead of the main summer getaway, we expect this month to be yet another busy period for the airport.
"We are now preparing to welcome (football) fans to Stansted as they head off to Euro 2024."
