More than 25 children tried crafts and learnt Bible stories at Thaxted Messy Church Holiday Club.
The club, which is supported by local churches, was held at Thaxted United Reformed Church.
Children got to have a go at making crafts and exploring three parables from the Bible: the lost sheep, the wise and foolish builders and the prodigal son.
The organisers said they received "lots of positive feedback", and are hoping to run a similar club next year.
