An explosives disposal regiment paraded through Saffron Walden last month.
33 Engineer Regiment carried out the "Freedom of Uttlesford" on July 28, marching through the town in celebration.
This honour was bestowed on them in 2009 in recognition of their dedicated service.
Inspector Phil Jackson, of the Uttlesford Community Policing Team, said: "It was the great privilege of Uttlesford community policing and town centre teams to ensure that the event went smoothly and allowed 33 Engineer Regiment to exercise the rights bestowed on them.
"We worked closely with military personnel from the regiment to plan the operation and to ensure the safety of the soldiers marching, as well as the public, during the event."
