Saffron Walden Golf Club played host to a seniors county match - and it brought a home win for the Cambridgeshire side.
They were playing in a Seniors Anglia League match against Norfolk after secured a 10-5 victory.
The course was laid out in magnificent condition and both teams said that the greens were the best they played on all year.
There was also two from the Walden club involved, Steve Plumb and Graham Goodman, with one former member in the shape of Kevin Hayes too.
The Walden pair scored maximum points, Plumb winning his foursomes with Paul Izzard from Gog Magog 2&1, and the same score providing Goodman and Girton's Doug Bottomley with the triumph.
Cambs needed to come from behind in the afternoon singles though after starting the session 3-2 behind.
But Hayes won 1 up, Plumb out putted his opponent 5&3 with a few birdies and it was left to Goodman, 2 down after 13, to sink two pars on the final two holes and complete a 2 up win and seal the overall success.
