WaldenTRI has announced details of its ever-popular triathlon event, this year cunningly named WT24.
WT24 is an early season sprint and super sprint triathlon event that is ideal for all abilities, from novices to seasoned competitors.
It will be based at the Lord Butler Leisure Centre in Saffron Walden, taking place on Sunday, May 5, and there are two distance options.
The sprint is a 400m pool swim, followed by a 23km cycle, and a 5km run.
The super sprint is a 200m pool swim, a 12km cycle and a 2.5km run.
The swimming takes place at the Lord Butler with the cycle ride on country roads through Debden and Thaxted.
The run is on mixed terrain near Herberts Farm.
A spokesman for the club said: "This race always has a fantastic atmosphere and is well supported by the organising team and cheering friends and family alike.
"This year we will be supporting The Laughter Specialists charity with donations from the event.
"They improve lives through laughter, entertaining sick and vulnerable children in East Anglia.
"As well as bringing joy to children in hospitals and special schools in the region, the charity also emphasises research, collaboration, and inclusivity, aiming for a broad impact across all communities and age groups."
Ben Bely, event organiser said: “We are delighted to be bringing WT24 to Saffron Walden once more and to be able to support the wonderful charity, The Laughter Specialists.
"It should be a great event with masses of support and an uplifting atmosphere."
The WT24 team would like to thank event sponsors Greenwood Financial Planning, Pottrill Holland Property Agents, Saffron Autos, and Newdales.
